Wednesday Wonderfuls

When I do my Wednesday Wonderful posts I usually feature lovely and inspirational items that I find on Etsy. Today I wanted to do something a little different and am featuring a few of the blogs I visit regularly that inspire me each and every time I stop by!

These ladies are wonderful and you'll see why!

Shelley @ Random Stuff by SAM

She's a writer, a photographer, designer and just creative all around. When I first met Shelley I was drawn in by the uniqueness of her creations and how much care she put into the details. I love reading her short stories from her writer's club and seeing what she's up to and creating in Tacoma.

Catherine @ Avery and Winslow

Busy with her two beautiful boys, I don't know how she finds time for all her lovely creations, but somehow she does! She makes beautiful silver jewelry for her Etsy shop and fills her blog with all her projects she's working on. When I first found Catherine's blog she was trying to complete 100 projects in 1 year. And do you think she did it? Of course!!

Give this girl a bucket of paint and I know I'm going to see a great makeover! She loves to cook, create and transform her home. She did a wonderful post recently called Furnishing Our Home on a Dime . It is wonderful to see how they are able to fill their house with so many lovely items and spend little or nothing in the process. Did you notice the stargazer lilies on the table? My favorite! I have a few stargazer lily plants in pots growing out on the deck right now, can't wait til they bloom....

I hope you enjoy these ladies as much as I do and will stop by and say hi to them.

Spying on the Neighbors (Continued)

I heard the babies in the birdhouse one day. Then the next day I spotted him.

He poked his head out, looking for his mom, hungry for some food.
Have you ever had a family of birds in your backyard?

Spying on the Neighbors

The house out back has been empty for over a year. Every once in a while I peek out to see if anyone has moved in.

Then I spotted her.

The first few times I saw her she was bringing back things to build up the nest inside and make it more livable.

Now I see her bringing back food for the babies. It's very exciting to have a family of birds living out back. Now we'll see how long it takes someone to find the new birdhouse.

Friday Already?

"Not Everything that can be counted counts,
and not everything that counts can be counted."

-Albert Einstein

Friday already? I can't believe it! This week has just flown by. Worked everyday, made it to all my kickboxing classes (one of those classes with no a/c!) and wrapped up a few custom orders at Words For You.

Hope it's been a great week for you too!

Wednesday Wonderfuls

Some lovely Spring Time inspiration...
The work of Michelle at Calamari Studio (love that name!) has such a lovely soft feel to it. "Ferns" is one of my favorites."dream until your dreams come true"

Christen over at {letterhappy} created this lovely print. Love the colors, love the saying, even love the way she photographed it!

Recently, I came across Renee Anne's blog which is how I found her her lovely Etsy shop. She is a self-taught Canadian artist with so much to offer. Here is one of my favorite sets of cards from here shop titled "A Bird I Once Knew."

Valentina is a graphic designer and I am in love with her style. Her illustrations are so detailed and fun. Here is a set of her She Believed Cards which I think would be great to send someone for a sweet note and lots of inspiration! Look at all the detail around the edge of the cards, just beautiful!

I hope you enjoy these creations by these very talented ladies!!

Lovely Ends

The other day I realized I needed some hooks in my bathroom. It's funny because my very next thought was: how could I make it, instead of: where can I buy it?

A few days later while I was cleaning up some debris from last year's flood I came across some boards of wood that I knew were exactly what I needed. I scrubbed the wood down with soap and water and then sealed it after it dried for a few days. I used some white knobs that I had, but wasn't using and couldn't wait to hang it up. Now I feel like it is a piece of artwork in my bathroom.I love the ends of this board and maybe I do go in the bathroom a little more than I need to just to look at what I made!

New Magnet Sets

Spring is right around the corner and I am ready for it! I've been working on some new magnet sets and am very excited about them. I've added a few new glass pebble sets
to brighten up your refrigerator door and help put a smile on your face until the flowers actually do start blooming.

In addition to my glass pebble magnets I've decided to start a new line of magnets in my shop. This is a kind I've never made before, but like the way they are turning out so far. They are Bottle cap magnets. I've decided to make a set from different places I've visited. I've listed a few and am still working on a few more sets...

A fun fruit salad for your fridge from market photos in Peru.
A walking tour in San Francisco
A sight seeing weekend in New York City

Let me know what you think of the new magnets sets!!

Some wonderful Artist you should see!

We made our way to Asheville, NC last weekend. The weather was perfect and the changing leaves were beautiful! Along with some wonderful company and walking way too much I discovered some new and inspiring artists I want to share with you.

First we went to a huge craft show, The Southern Highland Craft Guild, which was going on in the city and then we wandering about to find some lunch and along the way found so many more great artists.

One of my favorite artists at the craft show was Holden McCurry. He make these beautiful pray towers along with Friendship Houses, landscapes and more. Check out his website here.

Another artist was Molly Dingledine. I was just in awe of her beautifully jewelery. Her booth was actually so packed I couldn't get as close as I wanted to look at all her amazing creations, but what I saw I loved!! Check out her website here.

Then there was Sarah Faulkner who I discover in another shop in Asheville. Her prints were beautiful and the style that I love. So soft and simple I loved them! Check out her website here.
Who have you discovered recently?

Gardening time

We headed to the Farmer's Market last Saturday ready to buy some plants and start growing our own vegtables. We picked up a few small tomato plants and decided to do the rest from seeds. With a handful of seed packets I knew we needed some way to remember what seeds we planted where.

Then I saw the colorful toothpicks in the kitchen and remembered something I saw on Samsstuff recently. Fun and colorful and complete with clear tape over both sides to keep them safe when we are watering, they are just want we needed. I still need to make a few more but think I'm off to a good start. I'm happy with how they turned out and now I just hope something will grow...What are you growing in your garden this summer?
