Well, I've been there for a while, but have just recently added some new photographs.  Since I first joined, Society6 has added a number of new products.

Digital Prints

Recently I had an idea to add some new digital prints to Shana's Shop. These are files you can purchase and print out yourself. It's great because there is no shipping cost and once you buy the listing it's yours to print out as many times as you want!

Over the last few months I have been slowly working on a new look for Shana's Shop. I have redone the photographs of my magnet sets, revised my banner, made new business cards and created new packaging.

Yesterday was a very exciting day as 3 magnet set orders came in! As I put them together and pack them up I realized, to my surprise, all of my work had come together and I was very happy with how it has all turned out.

New Magnet Sets

Spring is right around the corner and I am ready for it! I've been working on some new magnet sets and am very excited about them. I've added a few new glass pebble sets

to brighten up your refrigerator door and help put a smile on your face until the flowers actually do start blooming.

In addition to my glass pebble magnets I've decided to start a new line of magnets in my shop. This is a kind I've never made before, but like the way they are turning out so far. They are Bottle cap magnets. I've decided to make a set from different places I've visited. I've listed a few and am still working on a few more sets...

Recent projects

Sometimes it's hard to get off the computer and do what I really enjoy: making things my hand! Here are a few things that I finished recently. A few new sets of glass pebble magnets for Shana's Shop. And do you remember these? I posted about them here. I had some left over fabric from my pillows which I used for my new fabric basket. I love it and have found it very useful!

I first saw the fabric baskets on EverythingEtsy and then posted about them here. The tutorial which is here came from Christina at The Sometimes Crafter and when I told her that I was going to try these she wrote to me and told me about leaving the opening in an inside corner instead of the top as she originally put in her tutorial. She told me she was going to update her tutorial but hadn't had a chance yet.

It was great advice and worked out perfectly. It helps give the top a smoother uniform finish just like she said it would. I've been using my little fabric box on my desk since I finished it and it has stayed full and has been very useful. I had to empty it out to get some photos so you could see the inside. Since I used scraps from the my pillows I actually only had to buy the batting. The only problem is now I have batting left over and need some more fun fabric to make another one! Oh, and also a new sewing machine because mine is broken!

Doors of India

When I was traveling around India I loved all the doors that I saw. They were all so different and colorful. After about a week of traveling I got the idea to do this collage. I started taking photographs of doors and put this together once I got home. It is one of my favorite things from my trip.

And Then it Rained!

Well, my first craft booth experience was…interesting. The forecast called for rain but Pam and I were very hopefully. It stormed in the early morning and rained when we went to set up. Once we got our tent put together and plastic around for walls to keep us dry we realized we were in the wrong spot. We were close but didn’t think we could stay in the spot we were set up in. Since the booth next to us wasn’t there yet we figured it would be better to move before they got there. Quickly we all worked together to shift our tent and tables over a few feet putting us in the correct assigned spot and we were ready to set up.

By the time the Picnic was ready to start the sun was out and we took down all our plastic walls. The weather was good for about 2 hours but I quickly realized we were not in the best location. I thought we had picked a good spot from the layout of the booths but I think we were wrong. There wasn’t anything to bring people our way. The booths near the food had tons of traffic but we only seemed to get a few people wandering our way. Also we were right next to the main stage, need I say more?

And then the rain came. It came and it came hard. Luckily we could tell it was coming so we covered everything up and nothing was ruined but we literally had to hold our tent down for about an hour.

This is me, soaked, after the worst rain was gone. I was only able to put on my rain jacket after I was already completely drenched!

Cold, wet and tired, we packed up once the rain stopped and were ready to go home. A lady at another booth told me not to let this discourage me because she has been doing this every Saturday for years and these were the worst conditions she had ever seen.

All the hard work and preparation we put into this show made this experience disappointing, but I do think I want to try it again…one day.
