The Story of Stuff

Have you heard of The Story of Stuff by Annie Leonard? It's an animated documentary about stuff; the stuff we buy, the cost to make it and the never-ending cycle we go through. It's a few years old, but very interesting. The video is about 20 minutes long and you can see it here.

Let me know what you think.

Yes, I showed that film to my boys a few years ago and they were stunned. I love the other films that were done as well. Such a great teaching video!

Yes, know the Story of Stuff. Brilliant. Also heard an interview with the lady behind it on CNN once, very interesting. When you think about the cycle of stuff, from resource to garbage bin, a lot of purchases make no sense. It's good to keep that in mind when buying stuff. I think the handmade movement comes in great here. When you buy something handmade, you value it more since it's unique and you might know the owner. So you're more attached to it and less likely to do away with it.

Well, just some of my thougths.. :)
